I found this place in 2018, just by accident whilst walking along the river. This boathouse was originally a farmhouse and farm yard. It’s within the Oak Road playing fields, and backs on to the river. It was bought by two artists in the early 2000’s who threw many art exhibitions, music events, and lots of cultural gatherings. There's still burnt instruments, CD's, books and more stuff lying in the garden around it. Apparently at its height, it used to attract 300 people a night. Following the death of the owner, Paul. It was left neglected, has been vandalised, burnt and this all that now remains.
There’s still a beautiful mural that is original and still remains, it’s covered in a lot of ivy now but you can still see it.
The other boathouse was fully closed up with no entry points but I got inside the older boathouse (orginally the farmhouse).
