So, yesterday (Sunday, 2nd of February), I met up with a friend of mine and we went exploring. We tried a few places but only had success at two: first was the old Environment Agency lab site near Fobney Island Nature Reserve (utterly trashed, wouldn't recommend it now... waste of time! But did explore it back in 2017 when it was in much better condition:
) and then quite by chance, we saw that an old unused and derelict pumping station building was accesible. There was another person inside it doing sound recording but he'd just finished so we had a look around. As far as I know, the building was built in 1872 by the Reading Waterworks. Really interesting building! There were three vertical turbine shafts, indicating this place generated electricity as well as pumping water. Enjoy the photos!
