hyndland tunnel is situeted on the lanarkshire and dumbartonhire railway which was all infamously
closed down by the beeching cuts in the 60s era. Today we are exploring one of the railway tunnels that are on
this network, hyndland tunnel runs in the hyndland area of glasgow starting in a forest area off clarence drive
and the south portal has a padlocked entry gate. here are some photos from the visit
Once u enter you are presented with 80s signs placed here but that are in great condition because of how unvisited the tunnel is
since this tunnel is directly underneath the present day railway line u can hear the thunder and rumble of the trains above
tunnel marker signs
approching the end of the tunnel, half of this tunnel is completly filled in with concrete due to a housing estate being built above
the north exit is filled in to street level
the best photo i could get with the flash
some construction signs for some reason
the tunnel abruptly stops with the next 100 yards filled in with concrete
thanks for reading stay tuned for more explores
