Hey guys, a couple of years ago I visited IBM, before they started work on it. I decided to dig out my old negatives and share them with you. Some interior and exterior shots for you all...
Here's the story...
A mate of mine told me of this place and I remember walking around the train station for hours asking where the hell he meant. I couldn't believe somewhere so big had been just left there for more than 5 years. The place can be seen for miles, it absolutely towers over Basingstoke.
(I used a very fast film, apoligies...)
We explored the outside of the building; trying to find a way in but all the doors were boarded up.
We eventually found a stairwell going underground which led us here:
We climbed through that tiny hole in the wall to get into the next room, the boiler room.
Up some stairs was a shower room which had been trashed.
Through another door was this room which controlled all the lights.
We lifted a hatch on the floor to find a ladder going down underground but it was filled to the top in water. It was very scary.
There wasn't much elseto explore and the only other door lead to the car park.
As soon as we left the car park we were greeted by security who escorted us off of the premises after two hours of exploration.
I went with Winchester just last week and these are my photos from then:
Thank you for reading.
