Visited with @MotionlessMike & @GRONK , After a disappointing morning of unexpected failures in Leeds we headed over the road to the nearby Bradford to visit a place we had all seen around but forgot about in recent years.

This underground reservoir has been around for some years and visited by previous explorers over 10 years ago. Abseiling one of the inspection shafts is now just a fun alternative as a big hole has since been munched into the side of the structure allowing for easier access. The pillars look to have been spraycreted in recent years and it has become a local hangout for youths. Graffiti has appeared over throughout and on our visit a mountain bike rider appeared inside looking around slightly confused as to why a group of lads were in here waving torches around with tripods in hand and left.

“The former Idle Hill Reservoir overlooks views of the Aire Valley and the Saltaire World Heritage Site, and is one of the highest points in the Bradford area. The underground reservoir has been disused for over 15 years. Since then there have been numerous proposals to build houses on the site. There is currently approved planning permission to demolish the underground reservoir. In 2020 an application to build a five-bed home was approved by Bradford Council in 2020 but the site still remains empty.”

Awesome looking place! Shame to hear that you didn't find anything good in Leeds. Lived there last year and there is some good stuff but all quite spread out.
