Ingersley Vale Mill Culverts - Bollington

In the late 1700's The river Bollington was put to good use, powering the various mills dotted
along the river, bringng much needed prosperity to the surrounding areas.
Ingersley Vale Mill, was one such mill, and after having a poke around of what's left of it,
I decided to take a look what lay below...So waders on and in I go

looking down river towards Ingersley mill below part of the foundations of the mill
a section of tunnel, roughly 70 metres in length and eventually joins up further down river
parts of the tunnel are starting to show the strain of the demo work up above
looking down-river through the first small culvert
further down river where the tunnel eventualy rejoins
this section is around 300 metres and runs directly under the mill
looking back up-river where the culvert widens
about as far as I could go before the river opens back up and runs back down towards Bollington
Not the most hardcore of explores but well worth a wander, or wade...Cheers for looking
