Report - Inhospitable & the Works, Manchester, July 2015

Ok time to stick my reports up. Visited with @stranton And @ACID- REFLUX. Thx to them both and thanks to @The Lone Ranger And you know i forgot the bloody name but you know who you are with the advice on waders there bloody good. Anyways on with the report and pics will borrow from strantons post has it seems there are a few up now.

History

Inhospitable
Inhospitable is a 700yd culvert which carries the moss brook beneath Collyhurst,
the infall consists of a 15ft brick arch
this changes too a10ft brick arch which continues towards the outfall
which consists of a 7ft brick pipe built 8ft up in a retaining wall.
Halfway through the culvert theres an overflow chamber with a manual operated penstock,
once the flow gets too strong the penstock drops blocking the culvert
this causes the brook too divert along the works
something which seldon occurs.

the Works
the Works is a 700yd overflow which passes alongside and below Inhospitable,
consists of a 10ft red and black brick pipe.
This exits the overflow chamber by droping down 2 sets of steps the latter been steep,
once at the bottom you are at least 70ft below the surface.
Both the moss brook and the Works discharge too the Irk,
(one of Manchesters 2 secondary waterways).
Slightly Different has i don't know what pics are what lol useless with the names.

LOL yep right dodgy he is. Told ya that flash is damn good for what it is. Sometimes it take a little time to focus but its not to bad at all. Thanks m8ty

I didn"t get any pics of the twin bores at the top of the staircase cos some fucker was being Anal & complaining i was in his shot for 10 seconds

Thx @The Lone Ranger yea was great and waders are epic. Makes it a lot better considering we where chest high at one stage lol

if you bin off the flash and use a long exposure you'll lose all the noise in your pics
