So I decided to go out for a short hike up a hill, slipped & have snapped my Achilles' tendon. My right leg is in plaster up to my knee & I have to keep it on for up to 3 months, then I will have to have intensive physio to build the strength back up again.

Have any of you had any injuries that have stopped you exploring for a long period of time? It's really getting me down :(

Part of me says it will be good to have the time to do plenty of online research on places to check out later in the year but it still sucks. I feel sad.

Went exploring with two broken ribs, not smart but doable, didn't break them derping though, I fell over on the number 2 bus haha
The only thing that put me out of action (besides being a lazy sod who can't drive) was when I went through the floor/staging at Barnsley Citadel, and that was down to a bad set of bruises and a sprained hip. I couldn't lift my leg up properly or support my own weight on that leg for a fortnight, but I am a big baby :)

Considering some of the injuries I have seen/heard of on here, I am a lucky lady, no broken legs falling down ladders, or roof beams to the head- touch wood and all that xx

Get well soon love <3

Went for my first taste today (solo) because I want to get into urbex this year but I already appreciate how unsafe this can be and will try and be part of a group next time! I already know I'm not a huge fan of hopping fences, walls, gets; got a bit stuck this afternoon at one point and the panic started to creep in!

I need to find more places with open plan walk-in kind of access; are these common in your experience?

Get well soon too buddy :)

@Oxygen Thief Those pics are frikkin awesome dude! Inspirational indeed!

I've got 6 more weeks with my leg in a giant heavy leg brace & then I can take it off for limited periods while I have physio. Not being able to drive is the killer for me. I'm using my time doing research for some awesome explores in the spring. The weather is shitty now anyway ;)

Yeah, quite a few injuries. Can't remember posting an article about it though lol.
