History
Before closing in 2007, this building hosted the Deaf and Dumb Benevolent Society from after 1886-87 when it was constructed. This society was established by a deaf man George Healey to help deaf people have equal access to Scriptures. Fast forward to 1987/8 where the society moved on from this location and the property was taken over by a Nigerian society called the IGBO. It later closed as previously mentioned leaving it to decay. The IGBO had bought the building for £50,000 and it has been estimated to cost £2-£3 million to save it.

first time encountering the Homeless on a trip, i stayed away from where they where since i wanted to leave them in peace. so i mainly stayed to the upstairs church.
Was nothing spectacular but has been one i have wanted to visit for a decent period of time.

Apparently there's a homeless family living in there now so probably worth avoiding. Especially if yoy don't like human shit

It's a different lot now i think, more than usual but yeah they normally don't care aslong as you don't bother them and they stay clear of the church area
