Inverkip power station is an oil-fired power station in Inverclyde which was closed in 1988. The site is now partial demolished with the oil tanks being removed recently. I'm sure most of you are aware of Inverkip by now and if you haven't there are several reports on here that would give you an insight into the magic of the place.
If you're looking for pics of the CCR you may as well back out now. I've been in two minds about posting this, it's almost like an admission of defeat that we never got inside the building but on the other hand there hasn't been any update since BenCooper's visit in October so it's maybe a good thing to post some updates on the place. Pictures of the control room and interior fascinated me and I knew I'd have to at least attempt to see it but on the day it wasn't to be, unfortunately with several security patrolling and a police van on the pier we couldn't hang around for too long. The exterior in itself though had some interesting parts but it'll always annoy me that if I maybe just took more of a gamble i'd have actually got to see the interior...

The weather was amazing almost a perfect day.
The mould and flying rats were quite apparent in the place.
I'd seen this sign a few times in pictures and assumed we must be close to an entrance.

Abandoned items were everywhere.
The smaller building had a water wheel which I assume connected to the reservoir.

So we left without seeing the magic of the interior.
The place in itself was unbelievable with the scale of the buildings not being done justice in pictures and videos, it has to be seen to be understood.
