General - Irwell Bury report 30 aug 2015

Whilst looking for a lost 1 year old white cat, decided to look at irwell river in bury, next to RRG/Ford junction.
Went upstream and discovered a tributary leading off under a old mill i think.
Went to other side downstream, seems under road junction access only part way due to design maybe
saw 3ft outflow next to weir as well

Might be worth getting back with a camera and tripod to get some more usable shots mate.

yeh, so we know were Kermit gets in then

tried to get into bridge from downstream this evening but lots of metal fences blocked way, pics towards bridge going upstream and small tiny outflow pipe from industrial area

upstream was a little more interesting nr to new fire station found leftovers of cotton mill and bricked up outflow and rivermap of history of local area

At the moment you're just walking along a river mate, it's a good way of finding things but it's hardly worth a report.
Try getting down one of the outfalls you've seen

that 3ft pipe looks dry as a bone..off you go
