Keybridge
Ex-BT building in the heart of Vauxhall. Views weren't too bad, but personally the building itself was far more interesting.Concrete chimneys and weird cladding. Brutalist at it's best.
One of my favourite looking buildings.
Keybridge House was designed by GW Mills and Associates for the Post Office in 1975 and built on the site of the old Brand's fishpaste factory. BT took over at some point and now it's being taken down 41 years later to be replaced by something less interesting and plain ugly. In it's later life it experienced a time of neglect and the windows were dirty, it was falling apart and locals called upon change.
"In the heart of London’s regenerated Vauxhall, a new future is rising. At its centre stands Keybridge, a stunning fusion of the capital’s mansion blocks with elements of Manhattan architecture, all brought to life in Britain’s soon to be, tallest brick tower. It’s anotherbold and ambitious developmentby Mount Anvil and FABRICA destined to become the standout landmark in the capital’s most exciting new neighbourhood." Whatever...
