After some serious squeezing in the Battersea tunnels, I met Maniac, sir jonnyp, James, Ben Liam (sorry, don’t know your 28 IDs) and about five others to do something I’ve had my eye on ever since I started exploring…
Once inside, I was not disappointed. Seeing this gargantuan underworld directly beneath the streets I’ve walked down daily, completely stretched my perspective of Holborn– a place I thought I knew pretty well – in the most surreal way (which is pretty much what exploring is all about for me).
It felt like stepping into the set of a sci-fi film (made in the 80s) and it’s amazing just how much of the equipment still actually works. Working here back in its heyday must have been our equivalent of working at Google HQ!
Big thanks to James, Ben and Liam for leading the way with this one!
