Ladysbridge Hospital was used to care for people with learning difficulties. It consists of the old Ladysbridge Hospital buildings (built in 1861), which have now been totally stripped so we didn't go into them. There are also many hideous 'modern' blocks spread around the site, completely separate from each other, so there was a lot of green space in between each, presumably as part of the therapeutic experience. The hospital closed in 2003. News reports claim that there was much abuse of patients at the hospital.
The first block we visited was obviously once an incontinence ward! Lots of wee related stuff lying around the place...
