Leri / Lerry Mills, situated at the confluence of the Ceulan and Leri rivers produced Tweed for suitmaking using both water wheels from the river and workers to power the looms and spinning machinery.
From documentation found, it appears the business closed in November 1980 with the lower (and larger) building being disused since then. The smaller buildings closer to the town have been used as storage/cider production and miner's equipment servicing workshop in more recent times but now have all been been long abandoned. Buildings above the river, which were once presumably offices associated with the mill are now small houses.
Visited on the LLS yearly post Christmas outing encompassing this and Ceulan Mill just up the road with MJS, Clough and O2E. Was further than we thought... Also rainy and very dark and I forgot my tripod plate.
