As there are many documented visits to this site I will quickly skim through the history;
-Thornton fever hospital was opened in 1902 as an isolation hospital
-Later on it was used as a metal health institution for children, under the name Strathmore hospital
-Upon a new hospital being built in Dunfermline in 1967 it was vacated.
Now onto the report
After having a bit of a walk from thornton we could evidently see part of the hospital from the road:
After easy access through the front we were in:
Obligatory teddy bear shot:
Some old magazines/newspapers:
View of the coridor inside the strathore lodge:
Something about the light inside the hospital buildings made it so photogenic
Overall a nice wee relaxed explore, definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing easy going explore.
Thanks for reading:
