Newhaven marine workshop and spares store was built in 1882 by London Brighton and South Coast Railway who at the time owned the port, they previously used the site as a rail workshop and was built between 1841 - 1847. The buildings show signs of change throughout the years like cast iron pillars and an old boiler door there are even old rail tracks still on site and in the workshop there are 2 hand operated gantry cranes that still look in pretty good condition although i didnt get any pics as was to scared to climb the ladder. This place isnt as trashed as i thought it would be and well worth a look if your in the area, its also a cat2 listed building so should still be there for a while yet.
