The Explore
This was the second day in are two days exploring, it was explored with Stranton,Miss Mayhem, KM Punk,ACID REFLUX and WildBoyz. I had a bit of a tumble right at the start of this explore which is always a good start but I maintained my commitment to exploring, as when I slipped over onto the concrete and was being soaked by the flowing water to hear multiple people to say omg are you alright, my response as I imagine most peoples would was oh no I hope my camera is alright. I continued on with the explore although so many of my photos came out terrible but I didn't realise down there so I only have a few photos.
History
the drain itself is located in derby and the purpose of it is to prevent derby from flooding via the river Derwent. as it has had a history of major floods in the past. In the 1930s there were two major floods which is why the drain was built. normally I would consider an entire drain this size being built a bit drastic for two floods however the floods happened one after the other, the first being in 1930 then 1931 so I assume they didn't want this happing year after year. after they discovered the source of the problem they started to build the culvert which was finished in 1938. later on in 2006 there were improvements made to the drainage system.
thanks for looking.
