Not the most interesting place this, but I hope someone appreciates it.
History
Melbourne House is a typical grey, bleak office building the like of which you will find in any town. The building has, in its time, housed local authority departments for Central Bedfordshire Council however since CBC relocated to new offices at Chicksands this site became surplus to requirements. It has since changed hands a couple of times and has been granted planning permission to convert it to an impressive block of flats however no works have yet taken place. After the latest change of ownership it appears the manging company has been disolved, so this may be vacant for a while yet.
Visit
We had been talking about coming here for a while but with it being on the doorstep we always seemed to end up scrapping the plan for something more interesting. Eventually, over the bank holiday weekend we decided it was time. Having discussed the idea of rooftop pictures, it was inevitable that the day in question would be grey and miserable - much like the building. Inside it has been totally trashed as to be expected, but there is enough there that it was still entertaining. Overall, not a bad place despite the efforts of the local idiots.
Hope you enjoy.
