Mickerbrooker Glory - Cheadle
After a morning of wading around in the Medlock and poking around a sewer, I needed something
less demanding, and as I was passing through Cheadle, I thought I'd drop in on this...

Originally discovered just over a year ago by Camera Shy. Mickerbrooker Glory is a small culvert
of the Micker Brook , which in turn runs into the river Mersey.
The culvert runs for Approximately 400 metres, from the infall in abney park, under Manchester
Road and down to the outfall in Mill lane cemetary.
Looking in from the brook, and it looks promising
looking back towards the brook
part of the brickwork seems to be giving way directly under the main road
It really starts to sludge up at this point and I get that sinking feeling
It might be sludgey but it's absolutely teeming with hundreds of fish
the sludge recedes and it's back to brick underfoot
I really wasn't expecting much but the in-fall is really quite photogenic
Not a bad way to kill half an hour or so, even if the wellies were full, and I was late for the school-run
Thanks for looking
