After probably picking the worst night for the past few weeks to do anything high because of the weather I spoke to JimmyHalfway, Talked it over and headed out...
After some ninja skills we had reached the base of the first of six ladders p*ssed wet through because of the rain but we didn’t fancy turning back.
Standing at about 90ft the Gasometer/Gasholder was built in the late 1800’s / Early 1900’s on the New Bradford Gasworks Site. This is the only information I could find and was from a few dated photographs that I had seen but at the time this area of Manchester had more than the two Gasometers that are now left.
The site is now owned by Transco and is currently poorly secured by Clarion Electronic Security Systems.
