Report - Monkton Farleigh CAD - 25/06/06

[Oxygen Thief]

Good trip today. Met up with Ridds, Clayderman, Blue, Paulo, Alias and Little Elvis, did breakfast at mine and hit the road to MF. Zippy was heading down from the midlands with Batman and Markr.

Met up later than planned but hey this is 28DL FFS.

First we went to Browns Quarry, had a look around and made our way to the CAD.

This was a well rounded trip, a serious look around, some good photo opportunities, a bit of tyre rolling fun, more looking, more photos and made our way out.

Alias and Little Elvis had to do one, we ended up having a pint and a sandwich in the MF local, watching England win, which was nice.

Top day out.

I went into this wondering whether "I've seen it all, I've done Paris"... but definitely not. The scale works in a different way - big big chamber-like tunnels. Like the pictures I'd seen of Burlington, and presumed (wrongly), that only "the big one" could have big roadways like that.

Tell you what though, the way in was the first time I've ever explored and felt a bit nervous. OT - you said you looked at Witley and said "this is where I die"... I assume that was before MF.

At this point, we all put on 3D glasses.

I think in this one Ridds was just overhead coming through with an oxy-acetelyne torch. Either that or well, maybe it was some glowstick goo from Alias.
