Hi, I've visited a few places over the years, mainly with my children, and now they're older I'm attempting more interesting places.

A question I do have for the experienced explorers please, if there's a place you'd like to find but information is very limited, how do you go about researching for it?
Such as, and admittedly I'm not sure it's even still there, there's an abandoned house on Morn Hill, Winchester and I've tried to find info online, been all over the actual site several times and asked all the people I met there and still nothing.
So how would it be best to research? Or what do others find most useful?

Thank you and I'm looking forward to sharing what we find in the future

Hi from Wales, Welcome along! looking forward to seeing reports from you. Your best bet for seeing if a site is still there is to use google earth and there slider feature where it takes you back in time from most recent and google streetview sometimes works but is usually 2-3 years out of date. Researching, is harder and sometimes you need to rely on something from the council or keep searching the internet which is a long process but sometimes you get somewhere with it! Again Welcome along and best of luck!

Thank you for your reply. I'm going to give the google earth slider feature a go and hopefully it'll bring something up. I'll post back if I manage to find it

If there's limited info on a place then just post what you can using any online links. It's surprising what you can find with a bit of digging online- part of the fun is discovery;)

Try: picturethepast.org, local press, and of course good old Google street view.

Thank you. I think I may have found it so will be going to have a look on the weekend. If it is, then I'll be using all you've suggested with my next project. I appreciate the advice
