Hi guys! I'm a new everything right now and on a tight budget so probably wanting to do solo urbexing for a few months to improve research and photography skills before joining anyone irl but I'd still love to chat on 28dl. I'll probably want to start group exploring next spring(2025) or whenever it's not dark at 5pm, so if anyone's interested lmk! Also does anyone have research tips? I've either been looking at ancient records on the internet archive or general googling and finding articles of places that are either over 40 min walk from public transport, demolished or CCTV/ guard protected. The only semi decent looking site I've found with this in mind is Calton prison which seems to only have the graveyard accessible to the public.

Welcome! I grew up in Edinburgh and it has some lovely places. Google maps is sometimes hard to use to find things but damaged roofing is usually a good sign that a place is at least worth checking out. Slateford had some places last I was there and if you're on the other side of the city, Leith area might have some stuff too.

Thank you and yeah I've found one massive looking place because of the damaged roof and I found a good website on a facebook group called buildingsatrisk.co.uk (fbs been coming in clutch with research)
