A landmark Lincolnshire building, much loved and well known Lincoln Chinese has gone to make way for a new supermarket.
The former Ocean Cantonese Restaurant at North Hykeham has been demolished in preparation for construction of the 3,867 square foot Lidl store.
The restaurant had closed for family reasons.
Many local residents had opposed the development. One resident going by the name said "They are also now taking over several houses to knock down to enlarge the area. "We were led to believe it would be a small shop – wrong! Residents insisted the build would cause "traffic chaos".
But the plans were approved by North Kesteven District Council in January
On completion in the summer of 2017, it will create 38 new jobs and parking for 113 customer cars.
