Introduction

Here are some old photos I took of Oldham Town hall back in February 2013, Sadly I didn't take any external photos at the time.

Information & History

The town hall building had stood empty and disused from 1977 and re-opened in 2016. The building at the time of the photos was undergoing Structural and Dry rot surveys. Section of Walls. Ceiling, timber work and floor had been exposed to trace the dry rot which was running throughout the building. The building has been now converted in to Cinema and Restaurants complex.

Some nice tiling there and that staircase is rather nice. Good to hear the place is now back in use.

Brilliant! Lived in Oldham all my life and this is the first time I have seen photos from how it used to look. The 'main hall' is this what they call the 'Egyptian room'? Which I believe is currently being converted into a foodie hall. Thanks for sharing. 👍

Thanks for the info. I still cannot believe it was left so long empty. but its good to see it has been saved and back in use.
