The Otterburn army training estate is a military training area near otterburn, Northumberland in northern England. The range is used for training upto 30000 soldiers per year. The site was established in 1911 and covers about 93 squared miles. Otterburn is the uk’s largest firing range and is infrequent use so make sure there is no red flags visible if you go. Otterburn is the only place in the uk where the MLRS can be fired requiring an 11 mile long by 2 mile wide firing range. There is loads to see here and was a good explore for my son.
