Phoenix Brickworks, Barrow Hill, Derbyshire - July 2024
This former brickworks was built by the Staveley Coal and Iron Company in the mid-30s on the site of the former Campbell Colliery. After a management buy-out in 1993 the works were renamed ‘Phoenix’ but finally closed again during December 2012.
With the works demolished years ago, all that remains now is just a small welfare block with a locker room which has escaped the demolition man for some reason.
Note the useless cameras
Apparently the locker room was full of plastic tubs, I guess the magical cleaning fairy had been in at some point as I found them all fucked out of the window...
It’s a shame that this didn’t get any explorer-attention years ago as the site looked nicely dated. Someone prove me wrong please!
