Pomona docks used to be one of the busiest dockyards in the UK, now many of the docks have been infilled and the buildings demolished. A tram system once served the area, only a couple of rails sticking out through the ground remain. Below the old tram lines a tunnel still exists, brackets on the wall suggest it was a cable tunnel. Here are the photos, taken on the return trip.
Only surviving cable
Cable bracket type changes here
Way too bright I know but the tunnel had few variations in shape and this was one.
Rust stalactite:
I dropped into the tunnel about half way down one of the long straights and only went one direction. Also the end was not reached, so there's definitely more to explore. Progress was slow due to varying degrees of mud thickness, and constant stooping doing me back in!
