This was one of my early visits into my exploring hobby. After only been doing it for a year I had been six months earlier but with onsite security and the place secure I only managed the pool. Fast forward and I was in the area and thought I would check again as I was going solo. Security had moved out and just did mobile checks now and again. I found every building open, but not too trashed. I spent the whole day here and covered it all.
Pontins like Butlins had camp sites and camps all over the country. But with holidays abroad getting cheaper and more popular they scaled back a lit of there camps. They concentrated in the better ones. The Hemsby site shut down in 2009 with a rapid decline n visitors,the place has laid derelict since.the place was controversial with the locals, with them at odds with the developers. Sadly after I went the decline set in badly over the next few years with heavy vandalism and fires. Most of it has been demolished now. I think they kept some of the accomodation blocks to do something with them. It was quite a fun explore though even on my own.
