The power plant was built in the 1960s. Five coal-fired units reached the power of 600MW. Turned off in January 2018. It was caused by the high costs of adjusting to the emission standards and the ending coal deposits in the nearby mine. The facility is a characteristic element of the surrounding landscape. Cooling towers and a lonely chimney are visible from many kilometers. It is currently being demolished.
