Photos from this place have been popping up here and there for some time already and I had it on my map for a year or two, however, there was on-site security in the turbine hall. When the demolition began the security moved away from the turbine hall, so we thought we might as well try it, and on our second try at 5 am it worked out. The access was ok, the way back was a pain in the butt as workers started working again, but we made it out.
The power plant has been commissioned in the 1960s and has five blue Zamech turbines neatly stacked in one large turbine hall. Curiously, each block had its control room, and of the five blocks two were digital and the rest still analog. The turbine hall has nice windows that make for an interesting background but are a nightmare to photograph. The power is still on in the turbine hall and some parts of the boiler house.
Overall it was a trip well worth with the turbines being the highlight. We finally broke our bad luck chain after an unsuccessful 1000km trip to Hungary and Wien.
The demolition is progressing fast, so anyone looking to visit should hurry up!

Reminds me of Cloudfactory
Turbine from block 1
Inside the boiler house, the power was still on
Pipes and valves
The control rooms were not worth much
