History:
The history of this classic power station dates back to the beginning of the 1900s. At this time coal was extracted from a nearby mine. This mine quickly grew out to be quite a successful one so it was decided to expand their operations. This expansion also included a small coal powered station, which could ran on coal from the coal mine and deliver power to the mine. After its opening it was quickly expanded to also produce electricity to different factories and even parts of the nearby city. In the late 60s the nearby mine was closed down due to it being outdated, so they needed to import coal from different mines in the area. This made the station not as profitable as it did before, so the company decided to completely abandon coal and switch to natural gas. This seemed to be quite successful actually, so the already aging power plant could be profitable for another of decades.
But even though it being modernized heavily, it was closed a couple of years ago, and completely abandoned...
Nowadays the power plant is in heavy neglect and unfortunately covered in graffiti and trash (erased it though ) but even with this, this station was still very cool to take photos in.
