A place I have drove past a few times and thought about having a look. I then see a small hole in the fence so decided to give it a little look. Prob would have been best going on a Sunday as live businesses either side. Some guy welding in the bay next to it, not sure how he did not spot me. A nice little spot which ain’t going to be of an epic scale. But it was untouched and undocumented and had that grimy feel to It, and shows there are little things still out there. I was not expecting any big cranes here as they all got sold in the auction for millions of pounds. But wondered if anything had been left behind. Sadly everything had been auctioned off, even the fire extinguishers what had not been sold had tickets on. I did like the stores though and the welfare facilities for the workers. The site sits with buildings on either side, these comprise of workshops and storage. A spray booth, staff room, toilets and an office block.
Quinto cranes was a company set up in 1966 and rented out large cranes to the construction industry, they were also a plant hire company. They were one of the oldest plant and crane hire companies in the country. Sadly with Covid and rising costs the company like many others struggled and finally went into administration in 2022 with the loss of 50 jobs.
looking across is the offices first, a workshop, then the stores. From here you have staff room and toilets, a storage area. Then the spray booths and a big workshop for minting the big cranes.
The stores had that old vibe to them.
The staff room with the usual humour you find in the work place.
Toilets and changing room.
Storage area with door going into spray booth
Spray booth.
Continued..
