Only just getting around to uploading this one. My previous report was also in Kangerlussuaq, however this particular building was located quite a bit further out from the town. Unfortunately there is a lot less history on this one, I did however find large concrete blocks evenly spaced out on the adjacent grounds. Given the reasonably close by proximity of the Sondrestrom Incoherent Scatter Radar Facility I believe the blocks may have fixed support cables in place for a radar dish at some point in the past - hence the need for the generator building.
So once again only a broader history is available on this one: In 1941 the Americans occupied Greenland and constructed an airbase in Kangerlussuaq (and in several other places along the coast of Greenland) after Denmark was invaded by the Germans in World War 2. The airbase, which forms the major part of the town, was used by the Americans until 1992, where it was then handed over to Greenland where it continues to operate today as the nations main international air hub.
I had to really rush around this particular building due to circumstances at the time, so the pictures aren't as well prepared as usual but even so I hope you enjoy them.
