Report - RAF Upper Heyford - July 2020

Done to death, I know. But I needed somewhere to go whilst the women were in the dreadful outlets mall nearby.
Nice peeling paint, ugly ugly carpets.
Very peaceful.

RAF Upper Heyford was a Royal Air Force station located 5 miles (8 km) north-west of Bicester near the village of Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire, England.

My late father was a squadron leader based at RAF Bicester in the early 1970s. At that time there were squadrons of F-111 Aardvark swing wing fighter bombers at RAF Upper Heyford. My father spoke to their base commander and took me over for a guided tour one day from their commander. I got to sit in the cockpit of a F-111 as well. A wonderful day and memories.

Still my favourite local spot. Can't even count the number of times I've visited it now, and it seems crazy there is still such a large chunk of the school left.
