Explored here a few months before a housing estate was built on and around this site. Sadly it was after the it had been set on fire. So a lot of buildings had been flattened by the time I got there. I know alot of people already know the history of this building like it being a war hospital up to the point it was a fire museum. The fire engine was gone and alot of the out buildings but the main house was just about standing. These are the photos I managed to get, please excuse the quality as I am by no means a photographer. Unfortunately my camera died by the time we got up to the second floor. In a small area off to the side there was a perfect replica of the house entirely made out of matchsticks, always kick myself for not being able to get a photo of that. So here's what I got,

Haven’t seen anything from here in about 10 years.

You’ll need to add a location and date to the title. It was also just a hosptial, not an asylum.

Hey! I live not far from sandhill park and was just wondering if any one had gone since the estate has been built?

Always a shame to see this one. 18th century architecture destroyed for no reason by arsonists. Much like the Grotto in Lower Basildon. That one happened just over a month ago.

The main building with the architecture is still there in scaffolding and plastic wrap, has onsite security in a hut, even at night. The housing estate is pretty nice for new builds, big luxury houses. Clearly lots of money as the ratio of Porsche to Ford is quite high! No idea what's happening with the main stone building but it clearly looks like it's going to be preserved.
