Sheffield Town Hall and Courts
Built in 1808 to replace Sheffield's first town hall it was used as a town hall and courthouse through out its years with its own cells within its basement and connecting passageways
to the nearby Sheffield Police offices, The building was extended multiple times through out its life but in around 1997 it closed its doors and remains disused.
There are sign of renovation within the building, how recent this is im not to sure as there are some signs that areas have been made safe (to a certain extent) with some rooms having there floors removed.
it is a grade 2 listed building and was named by the Victorian Society as one of their top ten buildings most at-risk in 2007.
Sheffield City Council approved plans for redevelopment whilst "preserving it as much as possible" they asked for one of the major courtrooms to retain its features and to be recognizable as a former courtroom.
some of the old cells underneath the courtrooms
a ladder to no where interesting
tried to find the way into the clock tower from inside the building with no luck didn't fancy climbing around the roof in daylight with all the onlooking office windows
a very bendy floor in the room opposite it looks like it was completely dropped
