Typical 1930's cinema, which has gone down hill recently with metal theft but was still well worth a visit.
After it's days as a cinema Shipley Glen became a bingo hall and the circle was boxed off with a false ceiling, keeping it preserved with original paintwork, deco light fittings, stained glass and stunning doors. Sadly the iron frames of the seats have recently had a sledge taken to them by the jippos, but although it is quite sad it had revealed a whole hoard of vintage fag packets, ice cream lids and tickets etc, every cloud!
Projection room is still fitted with projectors (minus arc house) and a lovely 1930's lantern slide viewer. The cavity under the circle was another treasure trove of 60's crisp bags and age old light bulb boxes... was there not a rubbish bin in this place?!
On with the photos...
