Sidedraught Induction - Re-visited

WB was keen to hit up some more Manchester drains, so we headed on over to Sidedraught Induction, a culverted section of the Gore Brook & CSO

Although it was raining, the levels were fine, so wellies it was

The first obstacle was the metal grille at the Infall

Once in, a short section of RCP leads to a larger brick tunnel before it splits into 2 smaller brick arches

We headed up the right hand side as the left hand section was blocked with even more debris since I last paid the place a visit some 12 months ago

Along the way a set of steps and a concrete side passage

Leading to a multi-level inspection chamber

Eventually the brick tunnel joins back up with it's twin, leading to a larger brick chamber

Further downstream on the right hand side is a protruding 5ft RCP

Which leads into a fairly large overflow chamber

With ladder access locked, it's a case of a quick climb up to the rather large CSO chamber

Looking down, the sewerfresh flows through. I was tempted to climb down again but my foot wasn't up to it and I didn't fancy getting stuck!

After what seemed like an age we climbed back down and headed out

Continuing downstream, a variety of transitions eventually leads to the Outfall

Thanks for looking :thumb
