St Johns former Anglican parish church is a grade 2 listed building near Rawtenstall Lancashire.

The church's construction began in 1890 by two architects from Lancaster.

Back then the estimated cost was £6,800 but due to problems with the foundations being built this bill ended up around the £12,000 mark which is around £1.4 million in today's money.

It could accommodate 616 seated but numbers of attendees would drop over the years, this along with the theft of lead from the roof resulted in the church being declared redundant in February of 2012.

despite being derelict for over 10 years and the questionable integrity of the roof the place doesn't look 'to' bad and has a nice decaying feel about the place.

Looking at pictures from years back it seems to be another one i was a bit late to the party to and a 50mm lens would have done the place more justice.#
