Lead or Rumour info - St Loman's Mullingar

So I know there aren't too many Irish members on here but just in case any of you are thinking of trying St Loman's asylum in Mullingar, be warned there is new and very tight security. Had a look around today and there are new cameras installed, fresh signs newly cemented into the ground saying 'Keep out, prosecution warning' etc. And I'm guessing the windows round the back are now all fully sealed, possibly even grilled. There was a gardai van with a good view sitting there with two guards walking around, seeming unusually alert.


This level of security is very unusual for Ireland, so why...?

Yeah Ik and that was one of best preserved asylum in the country, st brigid's and our lady's are basically just shells at this point.... hopefully the security will get lazy after a while

Yeah I was dying to see in there because my great grandad was actually in there for several decades. Tried it in June when I was over there and the security was unexpectedly on the ball. We ended up speaking to secca and he was a decent guy who told us a fair bit about the place, he also mentioned the records being found, but yeah if you were ever gonna do it you'd have to do it as a pre-dawn mission or something.

Plenty more asylum stuff to be seen in Ireland tho and be discovered, but security has tightened across the board. Even St Brigids wasn't the easiest, but it's still a lot nicer than a shell imo.
