History: Built for the Cheshire Constabulary and later transferred to the GMP it was opened in 1968 and remained in use for nearly 40 years closing in 2005, A relatively minor station it lacked much historical footnote so little about its active years are in obvious public domain. Recent years Planning permission for flats had been put in its place.
