I first explored this drain with a reluctant non-drainer in February 2008 which seems like a lifetime ago!
Revisited this time with fellow drain enthusiant Ojay.
This section of the Gore Book runs from Longsight to Rusholme.
For those who haven't had the pleasure of visiting, I could only describe Longsight as the carbuncle on the spotty backside of Manchester.
Several decades ago the area was pleasant and respectable but those days are sadly long gone and it wouldn't be unfair to consider parts of it a modern day slum.
At night you would probably be somewhat safer passing under the area in this drain instead of walking the neglected and litter strewn streets above.
