Hello All,
1 or 2 weeks ago I went back for a last visit to the site Sutton hospital, after hearing the chiltern wing was being demolished I had to explore it for the last time. I had so many good and bad memories there, camping, security chases and generally funny and good explores; except one time being chased out by a homeless man in the caffe area.
The History:
Sutton Hospital was huge, most of it has been demolished and is currently being converted into a high school. The other parts of Sutton hospital are derelict and are mostly covered in bird shit and graffiti, except one of the victorian buildings [which is almost impossible to get in now] and the chiltern wing.
Originally I thought that the chiltern wing had been shut down to budget cuts and not enough money to run the main hospital called st helier, as we uncovered some files which included budget cuts and how to save money. However after reading another report I found out that it had been shut down because of the discovery of legionella bacteria in the water system, I was meant to re open but never has. The Chiltern wing specialised in mental health for adults and children. It has been abandoned since August 2009
Exploration:
As we tried to find an entrance we were almost caught multiple times. The perimeter of the building was covered in cameras a PIR sensors. After we managed to get in it was mostly smooth sailing, we explored every inch of the place [except the boiler buildings as there were workers and more cameras.] We spent a good 2 or 3 hours exploring and another hour chilling reviewing some of out photos. We didn't really take that many good photos as we were mainly focusing on the explore. So here are some of the pictures of this place:
