Visited with jst and KooK
History has been well covered before on this one, and I couldn't find anything new to add.
In short though, this is a victorian water filtration plant clost to Quorn in Leicestershire.
The process started with a typically ornate victorian draw off tower by the side of the reservoir.
To the side of this is the overflow and spillway to control the level of the reservoir
Following the large cast iron pipe from the draw off tower takes you through the woods and past the tree of wasp death! Before bringing you to the filtration beds and watertanks.
The stone gazebo covers the airvent for the underground tanks.
Which are of course the main reason we all visit here...
Cheers
