The Bay Leaf - Tarleton - July 2016

The Bayleaf Restaurant was formerly the Ram's Head public house which was extended to create an American themed restaurant before becoming an Indian Restaurant, the building is of significant age, but remains derelict since the restaurant closed in 2007. In 2008 the land occupied by a derelict petrol garage was re-developed into a modern country style complex of offices which sits on the Sollom corner of the A59 and A565 traffic light junction.

Part of the building is listed and can't be demolished however the extensions can. Here is an article I found regarding the new development, who knows when it will be demolished now.

This was actually also a Mexican restaurant when I was younger in the 1990's, I used to go here for special occasions with family where I found my love for fajitas as a child. I remember playing outside here as well! It was called Quincies or Quincys, can't remember the spelling exactly but yeah, it was an awesome place!

Oh yeah I guess that's kinda American..
I just remember (being like a 4 year old child) hearing the sizzling pan that the fajitas came on and crawling under the tables hahah!

It’s still standing but it isn’t pretty inside, the restaurant has had standing water in it for a long time and due to the gunky remains I wouldn’t go in without wellies plus there’s not too much to see. The old pub bit is dangerous upstairs with rotten and missing floorboards.
I work for Aldi and as westernsultan said it will be demolished for a new supermarket...this was originally meant to be in 2020 but has been put back a number of times, I would expect it to be flattened within the next 12-18 months if you do want to go take a look.
