As is tradition with west midlands Galas this was a totally unexpected explore today.
Clifton is a typical example of the large suburban art deco cinemas which were built in the 1930's following the huge demand for motion pictures. The cinema went through the usual change from cinema to bingo hall, finally closing in 2008/9.
The seats had been removed but there were still many features left to see, and further more hidden away. We were unable to find a way to the projection rooms but some of their contents including carbons, film, old bottles and other stuff was mixed in a putrid pile of pigeon crap on the car park indicating it has been recently stripped.
