The former Debenhams, Exeter, Devon. Feb 2011
Down here in the South West, we don’t have many high buildings, with Devon’s capital Exeter being in very short supply. (there are only 3 buildings that go above 8 floors high!). So when Debenhams relocated into the new Princesshay development 2 years ago, leaving there existing building empty, I knew it would only be a matter of time before the roof was conquered.
Used for regular charity abseiling events, (my 12 yr old daughter has done one!), and very difficult to access, it was a nice pleasant surprise to find the building covered in scaffolding this week, during it’s refurbishment into a new John Lewis store.
After 2 years of waiting, the time had come.
Many thanks to Urbanity for the company.
Exeter High Street, devoid of any shoppers!
Sidwell Street, looking northwards
The Bus Station
The start of a new day, looking towards Exmouth
A Pano to finish with.
My first rooftop explore, need to find some more now!
