Report - The Merrivale pub, Langley September 2020

So some history. The merrivale pub is a jacobean mock type mansion im not sure when the pub was built as there isn't very much history on the site but the pub closed in 2011 standing dormant untill 2019 when there was a devastating fire to the roof causing structural damage to the top floor of the pub. The pub has three floors and a basement which unfortunately was flooded as you'll see in the photos.

So i went past this pub a few wanting to get in i managed to do it so as you go in there is the bar area which quite nice to begin with and then i made my way upstairs which had a nice large window in the middle the upstairs was mostly room where the owner would've stayed and then you have the mens and ladies toilets upstairs was quite fire damaged so the rooms were very blackened and you can go down the stairs to the basement but it is flooded which was a shame and it was quite a quick explore nothing to fancy but i left feeling quite positive. thank you

Closing date believed to be 2013 / 2014. Their 2013 menu is still available on line. In 2018 Mr. Anand put in plans to convert it to a Hindu temple. These plans were withdrawn circa Feb 2019, the fire occurring in May 2019. Here's a picture of it prior to the fire, and a couple of shots of the bar area

Yh i didn't see very much history for this one thank you for the info the place is proper trashed and fire damaged now
